Learn to Lead With Confidence!
The ILM Level 2 Award in Team Leading aims to assist staff working in supervisory or team leading roles to develop their practical competence in the workplace to nationally determined and recognised standards. The learning process will encourage the development of leadership qualities underpinned by practical tools to enhance the motivation and productivity of a work team. The course is a good starting point for team leaders who are new to their role or for aspiring leaders who wish to gain a solid understanding of the principles and practicalities of team leading.
Who Should Attend?
The participants of an ILM Level 2 Award in Team Leading will normally be either practicing or aspiring team or cell leaders. There are no formal educational requirements but learners should have a background that will enable them to benefit from the programme. This can be in either an employed, voluntary or self employed capacity.
The practical nature of the programme means it is ideal for those who are new to, or had a long absence from, formal study.
By the end of the course delegates will be able to:

- M2.01 Developing yourself as a team leader
- M2.03 Planning and monitoring work
- M2.16 Workplace Communication
Assessment
Assessments for this course are very straightforward and full support is provided.
Assessment for the unit M2.01 of this course will take the form of a 1 hour Reflective Review which comprises of 5 questions on the following areas:
- Responsibilities of a team leader
- Feedback on own performance
- Establishing trust
- Improving own performance
You are also required to complete a knowledge assessment for the remaining two units in the format of short answer questions from the ILM bank of questions.
Learning Objectives
The objective of this programme is to help team leaders understand their role within the team; how to organise themselves; how to organise and manage their teams work effectively; how to deal with problems; and how to communicate for greater effect.
